Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 24, 2026
This is a courtesy English translation; the Spanish version is the one that governs. These terms govern the music-education services offered by Academia La Blanca (Blanca Fuentes Valencia), with address at Calle 23 #101 x 14 y 16-A, Col. Chuburná de Hidalgo, Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, C.P. 97208. Contact: official WhatsApp +52 999 638 2785; privacidad@academialablanca.com.
Scope and contracting
Before any payment we will inform you in writing of the course, format, age group, teacher or substitution scheme, schedule, duration, total price, start date and specific conditions. Enrollment is confirmed through the established administrative channel. Our services are extracurricular music training and do not constitute studies with official SEP recognition.
Enrollment and promotion
The semester enrollment fee is $250 MXN during 2026. As an opening promotion, during October 2026 enrollment is free of charge; the promotion does not cover monthly tuition. In the event of voluntary withdrawal, the enrollment fee is non-refundable, without prejudice to rights recognized by law.
Monthly tuition and duration
The monthly price depends on the discipline and format and is shared before payment. Each month includes four classes, normally one per week, counted from the student’s start date. Regular classes last a total of 60 minutes and the Children’s Choir 120 minutes; the breakdown of that time is detailed in the Class and Payment Policies.
Schedules and renewal
A regular day and time is assigned, subject to availability. To keep it for the next period, the monthly tuition must be paid no later than the start of the first class of that period; otherwise, continuity of the slot becomes subject to availability.
Attendance, cancellations and changes
A student’s absences do not automatically generate a make-up class. Requests to reschedule or permanently change a time slot must be submitted to Administration in advance and are subject to availability. These rules do not limit any rights that apply when the service is not provided for reasons attributable to the academy.
Teacher absence
When the regular teacher cannot give a session, we will assign, where possible, a substitute teacher to continue the planned program and content. If the class cannot be provided, we will inform you of the corresponding make-up or refund options.
Opening of groups
Group courses are subject to minimum enrollment, reported before payment. The Children’s Choir requires at least five students to open; guitar and ukulele groups have a maximum of four students. If a course does not open, we will offer an alternative you may accept, or a refund of the amounts corresponding to the service not provided. An Adult Choir is not currently offered.
Extraordinary closure and force majeure
If a hurricane, health emergency or other force-majeure cause prevents classes from being held, Administration will promptly communicate the applicable measures, which may include an online format, rescheduling or a refund, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Withdrawal, cancellation and refunds
Voluntary withdrawal must be requested in writing to Administration through the academy’s official WhatsApp, and its receipt confirmed. If requested before the start of the first class of the first monthly period contracted, that month’s tuition will be refunded; the enrollment fee is not refunded for voluntary withdrawal. Once the first period has started, the current month’s tuition is not refunded for voluntary withdrawal, absences or a decision not to attend, since the slot remained reserved. Monthly tuition paid in advance for periods not yet started is refunded if withdrawal is requested before they begin. These rules do not restrict the remedies that legally apply for breach attributable to the academy.
Minors and safety
Enrollment and authorizations regarding minors correspond to the parent or legal guardian. The enrollment form must record the name, relationship and phone number of each person authorized to pick up the minor, as well as an emergency contact. We will release the minor only to their parents, guardians or previously authorized persons, and we may verify their identity. Any change of authorized persons must be communicated in writing to Administration before pickup.
Punctuality and picking up minors
Regular classes are held in a 60-minute block and the Children’s Choir in a 120-minute block, with reception and departure times detailed in the Class and Payment Policies. The reception tolerance does not extend the effective class time. If the person picking up the minor does not arrive punctually, the minor will remain inside the premises, under staff supervision, until picked up; no minor will be released to unauthorized persons.
Changes and complaints
Changes to economic or essential conditions do not apply retroactively to services already contracted without the corresponding agreement. For any clarification you may write to us through the academy’s official WhatsApp or visit our address. These terms do not limit your right to turn to PROFECO or other competent authorities.
